Job description:

Our mission is to entertain the people of Austin Texas and this great country of ours in a safe and supervised manner without making people angry. We want happy faces.  Work with the owner to ensure everyone is on the same page and that the customers are as happy as possible.  This is a dynamic and ever changing responsibility, so the drivers need to be quick on their feet and ready to solve problems as they arise.  It's a very independent job.  The driver is responsible for keeping the bike clean and safe. If necessary the owner can come help in the field. 

Daily tasks:

• Make sure the bike is clean

• Check that the seats are tight and that the bike is in safe operational order.  If anything is wrong with the bike try to correct it before the customers arrive

• Go over the route that you plan on driving with the owner make sure everyone is on the same page

• Timecard needs to be filled out daily and left on the bike.  Please initial each day and print and sign the bottom of the timecard

Timing:

The rides are advertised as 2 hour rides.  But we have 2 ½ hours per ride scheduled.  The extra half hour is for putting away beer, signing waivers, and the safety talk.  If the customers get settled in early and get on the road in let's say 15 minutes then they get a total ride time of 2 hours and 15 minutes.  Basically the rides end when the schedule says they end, not exactly 2 hours.  Unless for some reason you’re running late, in which case call the owner and see if it can be extended, in that case the whole ride would take more than 2 ½ hours, maybe that would happen if the first bar was closed and the customers were upset or something along those lines.​

 

Payroll:

The job pays $20/ hour + tips.  That’s about $6 more per hour than what the other companies pay people to do the same job.  Sometimes tips are pre-paid that needs to be noted on the time card as well.  Timecards are due every 2 weeks and payroll will be processed by the following friday.  DIrect deposit only.

 

Clothing/ Appearance:

This is a very special day for the customers.  They’re usually riding the bike because someone is getting married or it’s someone's birthday.  They usually dress up pretty nice and I’m sure they would appreciate it if the driver was clean and had clean clothing free of dirt and stains.
